First Lady of Mexico visit an MSSP School with our First Lady

Not only did First Lady Michelle Obama help plant a Monarch Habitat Garden and edible garden at the Marie Reed Learning Center in late April, but then in June 2010 she visit another one of our schools with the First Lady of Mexico, Margarita Zavala. The school was New Hampshire Estates Elementary in Silver Spring (MD), which just happened to be the first of our schools to partner with a ‘Sister School’ in Mexico. Ms. Zavala, who is from the Mexican state of Michoacán, presented each student with a Monarch pin and small booklet on the butterfly (see photo).
